The Arcade Fire - Miroir Noir
The Miroir Noir is a new documentary film by The Arcade Fire.Filmed in 2006 and 2007, the film features live performances, in-studio recording sessions, not one but two performances in an elevator and some artsy fluff scenes sprinkled in between. At some points in this film, the artsy scenes become irritating and leaves me wanting to get to the content.Other than this minor annoyance, It's a great film by a great band. It is always interesting to watch great bands creating and recording. The Miroir Noir is available now as a digital download. The film can be found in the link section.

No new Postal Service?
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Ben Gibbard spoke smashed our hopes concerning a new Postal Service record saying, "It's the record that never seems to want to come out. It's also just never been a priority...There never really was a plan to do a second album."
I guess it's time for us Postal Service fans to head to our respective showers and let the water wash away the torrent of tears.

An obsession with claps.
Lately I've had a strange obsession with songs that have hand claps in them. I don't care if they are electronic claps or human claps, I'm not judging. I just need more of that clappity-clap goodness! I'm not sure why I've formed this obsession, but I have a suspicion that it may just be that I pretend that the hand claps are really applause for me being so amazing. Or maybe it's just that hand claps make the music extremely catchy. But whatever the reason, hand claps in songs is the new trend, and of course we all need to hop on the trend train, like always.
So fortunately for you, I am going to share my obsession. Here are a few songs I've been listening to lately that contain hand claps in one form or another. Feel free to share your obsessions in the comments. And don't be afraid to clap along, participation feels good. I promise.

Arcade Fire - "My body is a cage"
This is the trailer for "the curious case of Benjamin Button", the song playing is Arcade Fire's "My body is a cage"
Alex Tschan
I like Alex Tschan’s music. I like his band The House Floor, but I like his solo stuff much more. Every time one of his solo songs comes up on shuffle I listen and enjoy it. This is not so with The House Floor, I’m just not always in the mood to get smacked in the face by social injustices.
I have nothing against The House Floor other than it seems to take Alex Tschan’s focus away from writing more solo music. There needs to be a massive myspace comment movement dedicated to letting Alex Tschan know that we fans are unsatiated by the few songs we have.
Ps: Check out Alex Tschan

Band Spotlight: Ghostland Observatory
MP3 Download: Heavy Heart (Right Click hit Save as)
If Daft Punk, David Bowie and Queen all got together and had a love child, the child's name would be Ghostland Observatory. Band members Thomas Turner and Aaron Behrens spend countless hours in their south Austin studio and it really shows. Their latest effort is Robotique Majestique, and track after track is filled with electro-rock goodness. I highly recommend picking this record up and spending the night in your living room flailing around to the beats with reckless abandon.

Men, Women & Children Lose 3 Members
Here is the statement they released:
This letter comes from Todd and Nick in my bedroom in the East Village, and using the magic of the Interweb, Skully too, from London. We are sorry if the tenses change (Todd and I, or Nick and I, etc.) but it's because we are all writing this together.
Todd Nathaniel Weinstock, Nicholas Andrew Conceller and David Skully Sullivan-Kaplan are departing Men Women & Children.
December 29th will be the last show for Todd, Skully and Nick @ The Blender Theatre in NYC. We cordially invite you to come and have a great time. We are going all out for this final night, and it's not to be missed!
TICKETS GO ON SALE THIS FRIDAY NOVEMBER 21 WE WILL HAVE THE LINK SHORTLY.
Over the past 4+ years, we have been lucky to form a band, make an album, go on tour, and meet 100's of millions of amazing fans in many countries.
For the past year and a half things have been pretty quiet for us. Part of the time was spent just being normal humans off the road. Another bulk of that time was spent in working on what was to become our second full length record. Todd and Nick entered the US workforce in the form of serving sake. Skully even got married and moved to England.
In this lull we started working on some songs together, things kept going well slowly, and before we knew it, we accidentally had a new project on our hands.
While all these things were happening the communication among the five of us slowly started to erode. Part of the communication barrier was magnified by distance. I think the 3 of us knew the whole time in the back our heads that things were headed this way, but its hard to be real about these feelings when you have invested so much of your life into it.
A couple weeks ago we decided that we had to talk about how we felt and put everything on the table. We hopped on a train to Long Island and met at an undisclosed sushi spot. The time just seemed right for us to move on.
One thing we want to clarify beyond everything is that there is not an ounce of ill will between us. This band was very trying at times, and we accomplished things together that none of us will ever forget. We've all been working on not only Men Women & Children for the past year and a half, but djing, music of our own, and like we said before, just being normal people with girlfriends and wives. TJ and Ricky have also been working on a bunch of great music and plan on continuing Men Women & Children. I'm sure you will be hearing about the future soon.
So what's next you ask?
Todd and Nick want to introduce you to Cubic Zirconia. Over the summer we met an incredibly talented singer by the name of Tiombe Lockhart. This is our new project, we plan on going everywhere, releasing tons of music and others things that bands do.
You can find us on the Internet @
http://www.myspace.com/cubiczirconiamusic
http://cubiczirconiamusic.blogspot.com/
As for Skully, he's slowly becoming an Anglophile in the city of London, while still keeping the neighbors awake with drums and cymbals. But don't worry, changes are what keeps things interesting in life...He is looking forward to a few collaborations in the coming months, and you'll probably find him back in America sooner than you think.
Thanks to everyone who has ever been a part of the band in any way, including that one dude who brought us the sheet of acid in Michigan, the girls that always bring lollipops, we apologize to that other dude for trashing your house when Slayer came on, Dresher, the New Mexico crew with full body MWC suits, that one girl with the Jesus piece tattooed on her boobs, Eaglesharks, that kid who gave me the E in the bathroom in Oxford, Pablo the Scottish balloon animal craftsman, those kids who made the MWC board game, the guys that robbed our van, everyone who helped us get beyond the robbery, and many others.
Please don't hesitate to get in touch with us , we love you a lot.
GODSPEED

You can find us on the Internet @

GODSPEED

Every Time I Die's open letter to Axl Rose
Read Everytime I Die's Open Letter to Axl Rose:
An Open Letter to Axl Rose Ending With an Impression of Howard Dean,
Thanks a shitload axl. You haven’t put out in GNR record in 10 years and the month we decide to go out on a tour cleverly named NOVEMBER REIGN, you find it prime time for “Chinese Democracy” to hit shelves. You couldn’t have waited another 3 weeks? We haven’t done a single headlining tour on “The Big Dirty” so this was a really big deal for us. You should have seen Josh’s face light up when he thought of the name. The guys in THE BRONX and STICK TO YOU GUNS were happier than pigs in shit to be a part of this epic journey across the east coast. But you just couldn’t stand to see us happy. Buckethead probably wouldn’t have stolen our thunder. And when I met Matt Sorum at House of Guitars like 16 years ago, he came off as a real nice dude who would be glad to let us have November to ourselves. Well fuck it, we’re doing it anyways. Starting November 1st, we’re going to Quebec City! and then we’re going to Milwaukee! And then we’re going to JOPLIN…AND NASHVILLE…AND RICHMOND AND THEN WE’RE GOING TO FARMINGDALE TO TAKE BACK THE CRAZY DONKEY!!! BEYYYYYAAAWWW!!!!!
love every time i die.
ps. you rock.

Ok Go There it goes Video
OK GO is rock/pop band thats been around for awhile. Most of their music i would describe as sing-along. OK GO isn't by any means in my list of top favorites, but good, "fun" music. If you liked the video, head over to youtube and check out the other music videos by the band. I Personally find them hilarious.

Coney Island (mp3)
Good old war is a mostly acoustic trio from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The music is folky indie rock, with three part harmonies and some creative drum parts. The song I've made available for download is "Coney Island". If you like the music go to one of their sites and support the band by buying the album.
