Alex Tschan

I like Alex Tschan’s music. I like his band The House Floor, but I like his solo stuff much more. Every time one of his solo songs comes up on shuffle I listen and enjoy it. This is not so with The House Floor, I’m just not always in the mood to get smacked in the face by social injustices.

I have nothing against The House Floor other than it seems to take Alex Tschan’s focus away from writing more solo music. There needs to be a massive myspace comment movement dedicated to letting Alex Tschan know that we fans are unsatiated by the few songs we have.

If Daft Punk, David Bowie and Queen all got together and had a love child, the child's name would be Ghostland Observatory. Band members Thomas Turner and Aaron Behrens spend countless hours in their south Austin studio and it really shows. Their latest effort is Robotique Majestique, and track after track is filled with electro-rock goodness. I highly recommend picking this record up and spending the night in your living room flailing around to the beats with reckless abandon.

At age 17, Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin's Vocalist Phillip Dickey came up with the name "Someone Still Loves you Boris Yeltsin, in guitarist Will Knauer's attic as a joke. The group recorded their first 3 song demo in winter of 2000. In 2005 their cd release show for the album 'Broom' sold out. Their latest effort is title 'Pershing' and was released April 2007.
