Friends and loyal readers (yes all two of you), I have a little treat. Not one, but I daresay two, yes two Jon Brion songs posted here for you. So sink your teeth into these two delicious snacks, and show your gratitude to me later. If you've been to the movies the last few years you've no doubt heard a Jon Brion song. He's Scored movies like I Heart Huckabees, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Punch-Drunk Love. Brion seems to appear in all facets of the music scene working with Fiona Apple and the late, great Elliott Smith. The first track we have for you all is "Knock Yourself Out". Upon first listen you'd probably swear this was a Beatles song. But this two minute piece of audio candy is in fact Jon Brion, in excellent form. The second song appears
on the album "Meaningless"and is titled "I Believe She's Lying". This song is a more infectious pop song. Its driven by the creative drum beat, and then a smorgasbord of layered guitars brings it home. This song will rent a room in your head and wont leave for days.

Mew-Special(Mp3)


Mew is a band from Denmark. Which will account for some of the synth injected into their melodic masterpieces. The song we've posted here is "special" off of their latest effort "and the glass handed kites".The song boasts simplistic guitar lines, a pounding bassline and soaring vocals. Mew is definitely a band to watch, expect to hear alot more of these guys in the near future.
